Ego vs. Higher Self: How I Stopped Letting Fear Drive My Life

Let’s talk about the ego. Not the “I feel confident” kind of ego. The kind that shows up as fear, doubt, impatience, and comparison.
The kind that whispers, “You’re behind.”
I’ve been there. Actually, I’m still there sometimes. But I’ve learned to recognize it. To shift it. To choose differently.
Because here’s the truth I live by now:
“Ego says, ‘You’re behind.’Your higher self says, ‘You’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Trust the timing of your life.’”
And that shift in mindset? It changes everything.
What Happens When Ego Is In Control
When ego takes the wheel, it feels like poison. You don’t feel peace, no matter how much you’ve accomplished. Because ego wants you to rush. To compare. To quit before you even start.
It tells you:
You’re too late.
You should be further along.
Someone else is doing it better.
But none of that is truth. It’s noise. And that noise keeps us stuck.
What Happens When You Are In Control
When you take the wheel back, something powerful happens.
You start to choose patience over panic. You stop chasing. You trust.
You believe in your vision—even when you can’t see the outcome yet.
Fear = ego is driving. Faith = your highest self is in control.
And trust me, you can feel the difference.
Starting Over… From 36 Followers
A few months ago, I deleted a social media account with thousands of followers. Not because I didn’t care. But because I needed a fresh start—a new chapter that didn’t run on burnout, ego, or external validation.
I opened a new account. I had 36 followers. And it felt like freedom.
Because I wasn’t chasing anymore. I was aligned.
I shifted from:
Feeling like a failure ➝ Trusting the timing of my life
Rushing ➝ Patience
Doubt ➝ Faith
And the more I show up in that energy, the easier it becomes to stay there.
What This Has to Do With My Mindset Challenge
This is exactly what I teach inside the 30-Day Mindset Glow-Up Challenge.
It’s not about big, overwhelming changes.
It’s about small, powerful shifts—like noticing when your ego is loud, and choosing to anchor back to your higher self.
In the challenge, we go deep on:
Noticing and naming your ego
Rewriting your internal dialogue
Practicing trust and patience
Creating a foundation you can build on—no matter your phase of life
Because you can rewire the way you see yourself. You can shift from fear and overwhelm to clarity and confidence. You can start again—and feel good doing it.
